I have a large sofa bed with removable cotton covers. Can I dye them at home or is a domestic washing machine too small? I read that if your machine is too small the dye will be patchy. Obviously I’d do the bits that cover the cushions/seats separately but that would still leave me with the huge bit that covers the whole body of the sofa.
It is currently white but as I bought it second hand it’s got a few marks on it that won’t come out.

Hi, I’d like to make some cushion covers for our lounge. (colours are brown, cream/gold, and teal). Obviously I need something I can chuck in the washing machine – and it needs to be fairly hard wearing. Do I need to go for cotton or something else? Any advice welcome – thanks H

I spilled a cup of coffee on my sofa, so have washed the foam and cover, of the cushion in the bath. The cushion is now sodden with water, and as heavy as a concrete slab lol. How on earth will I dry it? it is too big for the washing machine and I have no garden.

I have an old white couch that is dirty, can’t afford a new on so I took off the cushion covers and put them in the washing machine. But how do I go about cleaning the sofa itself.

I have a beagle and she’s about 4 years old now. We never had any problems with her anal glands until we had her spayed about a year ago. Now she has to have her anal glands expressed about once every 2 weeks. There’s no infection, we’ve already taken her to the vet about that. Our groomer will express them when she sees her once a month and then we have to do it about 2 weeks later. Right now we wait until we can smell it before we try to express them. We’re tired of that smell getting all over our house and embedded into our couch where she spends most of her time. Is there anything we can do to stop it from getting all over our house besides setting a date to express her anal glands whether she stinks or not?

Also, anyone have a suggestion besides soaking our couch in Febreze to get the smell out? We wash the cushion covers in the washing machine but we can’t take the cover off the back of the couch and that’s where the bulk of the smell it.
Again, there is no infection. We’ve taken her to the vet and had every test they can do. They’ve done blood tests, fecal tests, and they’ve inspected the secretions. There’s no infection, she just has problematic anal glands is what our vet says.

A cat peed on the cushions of my sofa. I was able to remove the covers, but don’t know if I should dry-clean them, throw them in the washing machine (scary), or use a topical cleaner. I believe the covers are microsuede. Anyone have a similar experience?

Last week i took the slip off of my couch along with all the covers off the cushions to wash in a washing machine with regular detergent. After letting them air dry they look just as filthy as before the wash. Is there a spray or scrub-on product that works really well?

The fabric on the outside of cushions is removable and I faintly remember (I think) taking them off…and throwing them in the washer.

This sofa has been at a rental property of ours, and now desperately needs to be cleaned. I am using an upholstry cleaner and carpet cleaning vaccum, but there is one pesky cushion heavily stained. The stain comes up- but there seems to be several layers to it.

Can I put the cushion cover, upholstry in washing machine??? I’ve searched for washing instructions tag- none.

I have a micro-fiber couch and was wondering if I can just strip the cushions and wash the covers in the washing machine. If I can, what laundry detergent should I use? Can they go in the dryer? I just don’t want to have to hand scrub them again. Thanks!
