how do i find the center of a 36" round table round table?

I am going to drill a hole to put an umbrella through it for outdoor use.

We are getting married in 9 days. It might rain on our outdoor ceremony….can you get married outside anyway?

We really wanted to get married outside. Balboa Park in San Diego is beautiful. We do have an option that is not very attractive. That is to get married in the reception hall there that is not very intimate and not a very attractive building. Would it be stupid to just have everyone bring an umbrella and do our vows in the garden anyways? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Umbrellas can be neat in wedding pics, we have seen some.

How can you get your hair to keep it's same form and not frizz up when it's raining and your wearing a hood?

Even if I have a hoodie on or umbrella over my head, my hair seems to frizz up badly. I’m moving to Seattle and it rains almost everyday there. I have naturally wavy/sort of straight at some parts hair. But once it rains, even if I get no water on it, it turns into a poof ball. Any product suggestions? The closest market to me is a Japanese one so any Japanese brand suggestions would be even better for me.

How do you recover an outside umbrella?

I am considering buying fabric and covering outside chair cushions, but I want the umbrella to match. I need to know how to recover it very simply. I do have a sewing machine, but I don’t think I could handle something that big.

My town has TWO Chambers of Commerce — One regular or the Historic one…and one Hispanic. Your reaction?

Creating a separate Chamber of Commerce, specifically to address the needs & interests of the Hispanic community, is something that has come along within the last 10 years around here, I believe. When 5 years ago, I moved back to this area where I grew up on the Texas/Mexico border, I was shocked to see that having one Chamber of Commerce wasn’t good enough. We had to have TWO for some reason because the Hispanic community felt it’s marketing needs and business interests were so different than those of the rest of the community.

But note…this is a town that is over 90% Hispanic! They ARE in the majority but some feel they have to be treated as special or so different that coming in under the same umbrella as with those having non-Hispanics in charge is not good enough.

The merchants who belong to the Chamber of Commerce complain that they’re having to pay extra fees to accomodate two chambers, but that the new Hispanic Chamber is not bringing them ANY new Hispanic business.
Does my town have it’s preverbial head up it’s you-know-what?

Note that the Chamber of Commerce is not a government entity. This is not the office of the Mayor nor are these elected officials. This is a collection of business people who are trying to promote their businesses through collective action.

I will also note that my town is not alone. I am aware that at least two other of the larger cities in this region have demarkated their Chambers of Commerce in the same way, i.e. one "regular" and one "Hispanic". There may be more, I just haven’t researched it.

Should we have a "Black" Chamber of Commerce if there were significant blacks in our area? How about "Asian" or "Middle Eastern", or any other ethnic division? Does creating such organizations in some way ACCENTUATE our differences rather than try to find and develop grounds on which we have more things in common and can agree on? Or do we just give up the ghost and say nothing can bring us all together?

I’m holding a pool/rave party this summer. What should I do?

Now, I know I’m planning this way to early, but I want to be fully prepared. :)

I’m planning to hold a pool party/rave at my house, this summer. Most of my friends are 13-15.
I’m needing some ideas of what to do, who to invite, and all that.

My pool is circular, and pretty large. My patio is huge, it’s bigger then my house. I have a table, with an umbrella.I have speakers.

The food I’m going to serve, is hot dogs, hotwings, watermelon and other fruit, big pretzels, nachos, with cheese and salsa, bagel bites, some candyy.

How many people should I invite? My clique has 3 people in it, excluding me, and I’m positive 2 of them will make it. I have many friends outside of my little group. We’re part of a slightly larger group, with about 20 people in it. Also, should I invite guys? Hah. I want to invite less then 15 people, but I don’t want some to feel left out. :[

I’m planning on playing hip-hop and pop music, quietly, for the pool part of the party, but for the rave, should I play different music then then what we are used to listening to? I like techno, but I’m not sure everyone else will….

What time should it all be? I want sometime in the afternoon, or evening.

I need some fun things to do. I’m gonna dance, throw water balloons, swim, play volleyball, etc… Anything else?:)

What should I wear?? for both the rave and the pool.

Sorry for asking so many questions. Haha, thanks:)
Also, no bitchy comments. plxkthx

Who feels the same or what do you think?

Why did 1 terror attack on US cause Americans to abandon so much?

Mumbai, India, Madrid Spain, London England, & other countries have suffered/weathered terrorist attacks without abandoning their values, giving up their traditions, changing their government/constitutions, resulting to torture, going to war for 7+ years. These countries & others had the grit to ‘move on’, retain their values, continue their traditions, and live their lives as always. Not giving the terrorists ANY victory, while we folded like a cheap umbrella in so many areas. Patriot Act & Surveilance/privacy issues to name a few.

Can you imagine America with the grit to have held their values & traditions? I am surprised that they didn’t. I guess in the ‘free market’ of values & traditions – ours just didn’t/couldn’t stand the pressure.

Can you imagine how quano crazy some segments of our population would go under an artillery barrage?

What do you think?

Cat spray – help! Apartment living. Neighbors male cat is spraying my area. What can I do to stop him?

The cat is my neighbors love and I liked him fine but he is spraying my patio area, has entered my storage / washer area and sprayed, even my daughters umbrella that was left open on the porch for a short visit. I can’t rid my washer area of the smell. Now I realize I cannot leave the door open to my storage, on my enclosed patio, which he jumps the fence. Please advise how I can have my area back without harming the cat or offending my neighbor. Thanks.

Okay, I just wrote two short storys for my English class and i was wondering which one should I use?

Ok, I really need help on this, it’s due tomarrow. Heres the first one…

Thunder was booming across the empty ally street as stray dogs scuttled accross to the saftey from the rain to their garbage cans. Every

once in a while people would walk by either carrying an umbrella or a book or newspaper above their head until they got to the indoors. Then came this person who was wearing all grungy clothes, a torn coat, a baseball hat and some very dirty sweats, what could be called a hobo or a

homless person, but by the way that he was walking, you wouldn’t know. He was walking with a sense of dignity, purpose, not so much as if they

were better than someone else, just equal. So many eyes turned to him, but then he just ducked away, not wanting to be seen.

"Can I get a hot dog please?" The man asked.

"Sure, .50." The hot dog guy said, as he was packing up and leaving due to the weather. The man handed him the money, two clean

and crisp dollar bills, and walked away. Then, he gave the hot dog to a dog that was hiding in a garbage can. Of course this drew some

attention, but then people politley looked away when he returned their glances. That man continued walking down the street, as if he was just

another citizen.

He waved hi to a few people in buissness suits that he seemed to recognize, but nobody ever waved back. Few even looked his way.

The man made his way down to Pike Street Market and bought a few things that no many other people would buy, all with crisp bills, and then

would give them away to people, and those that didn’t want it he would just carry around until he found someone who did. He made his way all

around the city, never really caring about the weather, took a few buses here and there to get to all the naihborhoods. He made it to around Lake

Washinton, and then he met up with some buissness, well, not really buissness but formal? Anyways, people that didn’t look like they should be

with this man.

He met them by a boat, and then they sped through the rain and wind at a speed set by the waves, to the house where Bill Gates lives. As

they were riding the waves, the man took off his grungy coat, his baseball hat, and his sweats and there was one of the richest men in the world

standing in the other mans place.

Sorry its all messed up, heres the Second one;

It was the last day of summer. The wind was blowing Cassandras hair around her face like hazel flames. It was time to say her farewells to

her summer home and her summer life. She went around to her few friends that were still in the Soaps. The Soaps is a summer home

naiborhood, near the beach where their are tide pools to look for starfish and alot of sand to have bonfires. Bonfires are a very popular way to

start out the summer. Very few people stay there during the winter though, and go to the near private school. Cassi went to a public school in a

whole different state, where she was born and raised. She was walking around saying bye to the people that she knew and just giving the

pleasant smile to the people that were walking down the street but she didn’t know.

"Hey there Cassi. How did you enjoy this summer?" Mrs. Oaks asked as she saw her walking her dog down the sidewalk as she did

every afternoon.

"I liked it alot. I can’t wait to come back next year. How was your’s?" Cassi asked back, trying to be polite but not wanting to talk all that

much, she might have already missed him as it was.

"Oh, it was lovley. I saw you and Brian Highers around quite a bit. How was that?" She was trying to get to the point, a point that Cassi

didn’t want to talk about and just wanted to leave.

"Hmm… Yeah. Sorry. I have to go though, I have a few stops to make before we leave. Well, see you later Mrs. Oaks!" Then she pet her

little white fluffy dog Hammy, and started back down the street.

She started walking to where she spent much of her summer, Brians summer house. She saw him loading up what seemed like the last

of a thousand box’s. It was only his truck in the driveway though, so his parents must have left earlier in the day.

"Hey, I thought you guys left already?" Brian said to Cassi as they were loading up his truck. He was a hunk, her friends at her school saw

a picture of him and even addmitted it. Too bad she didn’t meet him until this summer.

"Yeah, we were planning to but my mom wanted to go to the Sanderson’s BBQ. I thought you were leaving this morning?" She replied,

while smiling and trying to give hints that this was the last time they would see eachother for a while. They didnt go to the same school, they didn’t

even go to school’s in the same state.

"Naw, I didn’t want to wake up. But, I’m leaving now." He said as he shut the tailgate to his truck and went to stand next to her for a brief

secod then opened up the drivers door.

"Oh, uhm, okay, wel
