my american bulldog won't stop biting my patio furniture?

i have a 1 year american bulldog. he is very lovable, and is potty trained, and obeys commands such ass sit, go outside, come, etc the basic. but he enjoys biting the patio furniture. lately all he does is turn over all the chairs, the rocking chairs, and cushions. we have plenty of chew toys and things for him to play with when we’re not around (he only does this when we’re not around.) we have already gone through 2 beds, he chews them open to take out the fluffy part inside of it. he give him plenty of excersise, and play with him every afternoon and take him to the dog park 2x’s a week. i’ve tried the sour apple stuff but t’s not working, i think he likes it. what else can i do? we always tell him no and ignore him and he know we are upset with him, but he doesn’t care. it’s funny cause when i walk up to a turned over chair or rocking chair and i look at him to tell him now, he already knows and bows his head and lays, like saying yea i know i wasn’t supposed to lol.
another issue i have is when we tie him up because we need to work on the yard or have company over that he needs to be tied, he does not stop barking. it is so annoying, we can never have him tied up.
has plenty of chew toys and the only reason why we tie him when we’re working on the yard, is cause if i am cleaning the pation with soap and water he just continues to dirty it, if i tie him, i clean, i finish and when it drys he can get un tied and continue playing.

My diarrhea is everywhere.?

A friend let me sleep in here while he went to work. I went on his computer and started farting a bit; you know how it is, no one was around. Next thing I know, diarrhea is splurging out of my bum all over his computer chair! So I went to the bathroom and let it all out. Next thing I know.. it doesn’t flush:S So I picked the diarrhea pieces up with my hands and put them in to a plastic bag and threw it out the window. I didn’t realize he has neighbors living right under him so the bag of diarrhea splashed all over their patio umbrella and deck :S Now there’s a smashed bag and liquid runs all over their patio furniture… and on some of their children’s toys :S
What should I do? Is it obvious it came from my friend’s place?

His girlfriend lives here too… should I blame it on her?

My lab mix is 1 1/2 yrs old. She chews everything in sight. What can I do to make her stop?

We give her toys, bones and the like and don’t know what to do with her anymore. She has already chewed up the sprinkler system, the door jams, the fence, a couple of patio umbrellas and much more. My husband is ready to get rid of her at any moment. What suggestions can anyone give me to get her to stop the chewing?

Dog Section: Ever have neighbours/friends like this?

So,
House one;:
In the end of the summer to the beginning of the school year, they had an older Bassett which was given from a friend. After owning it for a few months [around the time of November] they got rid of the dog. Reason being; "He didn’t want to play with our son." He was about 9 years old, was blind in one eye, and was always a calm dog. Why they took the dog, thinking it would play with their child, I don’t know.
A month and a half later, they get a Border Collie pup. The dog played with their son, stayed outside all day [same with the Bassett] from around 5am – around 10pm. Had a dog house, was on a zip-line, had food and water [so it was pretty sound out there "needs wise"]. After 4 months they get rid of it. Reason being, "the dog was too destructive in the house and never stopped looking for attention while we were sleeping." Ok. Being outside for all but 7 hours, alone, with no toys; why wouldn’t it want to play inside with the pack for those 7 hours you tried to sleep?

My knowledge source: Their nephew, also their neighbour, is a close friend of mine.

House two;:
Currently has a 2 year old Golden Retriever, as well as an 11 year old Chow Chow. Both from breeders.
Occasionally allows their daughter/son-in-law to bring over a 3 year old Basenji mix [originally theirs, but after being "too destructive" gave to their daughter]. All are kept outside, while they’re visiting, in a 15′x15′ fenced in [chain-link] yard.
The Golden Retriever has aggression issues, barks non-stop at everything, and has attacked a neighbour once [bit hand, drew small amounts of blood].
The Chow Chow is timid, has been dominated by the Golden Retriever and is frequently attacked by it, and before the Golden was bought, it had attacked another neighbour two times, as well as other guests; drew blood every time.
The Basenji mix dominates the Golden Retriever, but submits to the Chow Chow, and has gotten the Golden Retriever into the habit of dragging pillows/cushions/shoes/fake legs into the yard and chewing on them. [Which gets him, literally, beaten.]
All are males, none are neutered. All, except for the Chow, feel the need to break through the fence about twice a month in order to get to our JRT x APBT when she’s outside for walks/on the cable.

My knowledge source: Immediate access to their fenced in yard, as well as past history of being friends.

House three:;
Owns 7 dogs. 4 Chihuahuas, one Manchester Terrier, one Maltese, and one Pomeranian. None are walked. Their fenced in enclosure is 10′x15′ but is crowded with their childrens’ toys and junk. 2 of the Chihuahuas, as well as the Maltese are only allowed access to that part outside of the house. The other 4 dogs are allowed access to the rest of the lawn, which is around a quarter of an acre behind their house. The dogs wander off while the owners are gardening/burning trash, up into our lawn, as well as down into the adjacent lawn, and further into the side-street.
The dogs continuously fight with each other, and have attacked their kids [they have 3 children in the house, along with the dogs, four adults, and two teenagers].
The owners have been called upon repeatedly by not only my own household, but other households because of property damage, dog fights [our main reason], and attacks toward humans.
The owners complied and either got rid of a few of the dogs they had, took them to a training class or two, or have euthanized the ones that repeatedly were called upon for human aggression. They didn’t allow their dogs out roaming for a few months after a call; but after the heat was over, they would allow the dogs back out, go get the dogs they got rid of, and got more dogs to "make up" for the euthanized ones.

My knowledge source;: Community meetings, one of them being my mother’s co-worker, along with one of them occasionally going to my school.

So.
Sorry for the long descriptions.

Back to the question:;
Have you ever had/currently have neighbours and/or friends that were like this, dog-wise [or perhaps another pet, that would be interesting to hear as well]?
What was the scenario like? What happened? Was it over-come/changed?

Cheers.

[p.s. -- can't wait until I have enough money to buy my own land and be free from neighbours. *sigh* bliss.]
Beautica — Oh, I have called our local dog shelter [whom handles the cases, inspects, and then furthers them to the authorities] multiple times. Usually *right* when it happens. But there’s never a mark on the dog, other than it’s aggressive behaviour — so there’s nothing they can do.

Lindsay –
Grow up. Please. Considering I give a sh*te about dogs, and I have to *live* with the dogs’ problems, behaviours, and the owners’ treatment of them — yeah, it kind of is my business.
You probably couldn’t tell a pile of dog sh*te from a barn, the way you answer questions.
Chaos — cheers, you have no idea how many times my dad has used those exact words for dogs of small breeds in similar situations. "That little [insert breed] would be dead in a second." It’s good that your dad wasn’t attacked, and neither was your dog.

Abbie — You have no idea how much it annoyed me as well. I would have been *glad* to help them with the dog, instead of them just dumping it at the pound/giving it away. Now I’m extremely worried, though. They still have the zip line, but they now have a fenced in enclosure next to the back of their house. Which means they can get larger dogs. *prays*.

Dakota — how did you refrain from telling her off? That self control is much more than I could have had in that situation.

Will these arrangments be ok for my cat?!?!?…HELP!?!?!?!?

Ok, so I’m getting a cat. He’s a tabby cat and is just under a year old.

There is nowhere to put a catflap in my house so I thought maybe these arrangements would be suitable. But I’m not sure. Please tell me what you think.

In the morning I will feed it and then I will let it out at 9:00am (when I go to work). I will leave the door from the conservatory to the garden open (but the door from the conservatory to my hosue will be locked) so the cat can get back to a shelter if he wants to. Don’t worry, there will be nothing of value in there. Just an old rocking chair and some comfy cushions. Of course I will put his food, water, and toys in there as well.

I will come home at 3:00 and let the cat inside the house with me. And I will play with it and give it love and affection and in the evening I will feed it again. Then, when it’s time for bed, I will put him in the conservatory. (With the door to the outside locked, and the door to the house locked). Because I don’t want the cat wondering round the house at night when I am not there to watch him becasuse I have a hamster in my bedroom, and he could sneak in there and try to kill the hamster.

Would it be ok in the winter in the conservatory for him? It has no radiators or heating. Will it be warm enough? Also is there anything else I should think of. I just want to give him the happiest, healthiest life possible, whilest being practical.

Please, please, PRETTY please, give me some advice!

Thanks so much,

Will this lifestyle be ok for my cat?!?!?….HELP!?!?!?

Ok, so I’m getting a cat. He’s a tabby cat and is just under a year old.

Firstly, I would like to say that I live in England and in England we always have inside/outside cats. There are no preditors, and it is just culture so if you are going to tell me to keep my cat inside then I’m sorry but I’m not going to do that.

There is nowhere to put a catflap in my house so I thought maybe these arrangements would be suitable. But I’m not sure. Please tell me what you think.

Then, when it’s time for bed, I will put him in the kitchen. It is a very small kitchen with all his things. Will he be ok in the kitchen? Will he try to climb onto the worktops? Could he cut himself on anything sharp? I don’t really want him going round any other rooms in the house at night, when I am not there to watch him because I have a hamster and I don’t want to risk the hamster being attacked by the cat. I just want to give him the happiest, healthiest life possible, whilest being practical.

I’ve looked into putting a catflap in the conservatory but it’s a lean-to conservatory and you can’t get replacement doors for those anyway. I’d have to get a whole new conservatory, and I don’t have the money to do that.
I would neuter, vacinate, worm, and give it flea and tick treatment so it wouldn’t catch any nasty diseases or go round making other females pregnant.

Would these arrangements be ok for my cat?!?!?!…HELP?!?!?

Ok, so I’m getting a cat. She’s a tabby cat and is 4 years old. She will be neutered, wormed, vaccinated and will have flea treatment so she will be alright in the outside world :)

How do I get my dog to go to her litter box?

YES I said to a litter box. My dog has her own "apartment". (a storage closet that has a half screen area and is decked out with cushion, hidden litter box, food & toys.) She goes there to eat, but will not go there to properly relieve herself. Whenever we’re gone she hangs out in there and handles her business the right way in her litter box. When we’re home & shes running around she’ll go to her apt to eat…but she doesn’t go there to use the bathroom. What do I do? (Btw She’s a 4month old shih tzu yorkie mix.)
This seems to have enraged some….its a VERY large storage room. Shes a tiny dog. Her litter box is in a secluded area from her food and sleeping space. Thats why I called it her apartmet. And I’m NOT being lazy I’ve heard small dogs in large apts don’t need "walks". There’s no where near in this negative weather for her to use the bathroom. She hates the cold too.

I need Urget help with my dog please?

I have a pup who is boxer/rott mix he is 6months old. when we are home we keep him inside as well as our other dogs and at night we keep him in a crate. while we are at work however we let them outside we have a wireless invisible fence so they can run. this works great for two of our dogs however this pup chews up everything thats y he still sleeps in his crate at night. just a few things he has chewed. flowers. a bike seat now my husbands weed eater cord. a cushion from our deck chairs. our door mat. he chews up every thing and anything he can get ahold of. and i dont know what to do to make him stop this. he has toys. and chew bones he gets lots of attention both inside and out when we are here. i cant leave him in his crate all night then for 6 hrs while im away too. but i also cant have him chewing everything either. and dont say move it because i have no place else to put stuff like our weedeater and bikes etc. any ideas?
i dont understand y he isnt happy playing with the other two they play all the time i would think that would tire him out. also i am afraid if i put him in a room he will chew the floor or counters or anything else. and as for swating him lol i got on him really bad told him no showed him the flower and not 2 min later he went rite back to pull more of them out.
i live in a small town the closest dog day care around here is about 2 hrs away. srry i just cant see that. and as for walking him before work that sounds great but i get up at 4 30 am now there is no way i can get up at 3 and walk him first srry i need my sleep too.
