I cant afford outdoor furniture…I have looked every where and its so expensive (400 and up) is there anything else I can use for patio furniture…any ideas. We live in Oklahoma and I love the warm weather. Could I use a futon..or would it rust? If I brought the mattress in at the evenings…I feel bad that my family cant enjoy sitting outside, but at the moment we just don’t have extra money for a patio set…i have even looked on craigslist and everyone that is selling theirs wants 350 and up for used stuff…any ideas at all would be helpful and please don’t be rude

Set up shop in the front yard or back yard. I’ve always thought that the back yard is the place for say…outdoor furniture with umbrellas and such. Maybe I’m wrong??? We have neighbors two doors down that basically use their front yard as the back yard. It’s weird…it always looks cluttered and messy. They have a table and chairs w/umbrella, a dog house with small dog tied to it (ick), a kiddie pool, tons of toys, etc. Everyone around here has a nice big backyard…I don’t get it!

Is it normal to set up shop in the front yard?
Personally…I would feel weird sitting at my patio table having dinner with friends in the middle of my front lawn with cars driving by…LOL!

Trust me…there is no theme or rhyme or reason with these neighbors, it looks dirty. In my neighborhood, our frontyards are much smaller than the back. We don’t have porches (which would make sense to have a nice set up). It’s just a bit odd. I suppose they could be from some other part of the country where this is the norm, and I should probably mind my business and not let it bother me

I have black colored cast iron chairs and a table.
I was wondering if there is any way to stop my outdoor furniture from rusting. The furniture is new…just bought a few months ago and it is already leaving a "ring" of rust on my deck where the umbrella stand sits. I thought there might be some type of coating or spray I could put on the umbrella base so that it does not stain my deck with rust. Does anyone know if such a spray exists? It is just watery "surface" rust, which wipes off for now….but I’d like to stop it from staining up my deck! I would think there would be something (like the clearcoat finish on a car) that could be put over the paint. Any tips?

For example, I sell patio/outdoor furniture. I often get asked from customers if we sell umbrellas for outdoors. Im not sure if indoor umbrellas exist, but customers ask me that all the time.

earlier today….we had some clouds gathering…but they were high clouds, so i decided that i should start hand watering my trees and shrubs.
i picked up the water hose and began walking over to turn the water on…..then suddenly….i hear these words in my head…"Are ye of little faith?!"
i stopped dead in my tracks…….and thought to myself………what?!….no im not of little faith!……..i dropped the hose to the ground and smiled…….knowing for sure that we were going to get rain.
so i start putting the cushions away on the outdoor furniture…..and my non Christian room mate comes out……and smirks at me and says "so what are you doing?’ i told him i was preparing for rain…….he smirked at me again ( knowing God rules my life) and said "so exactly what time are we going to get rain then?!"…..i said you know…..im not sure…..but we are definitely going to get rain!
it took about 3 hours…..but its been dumping all night!

also what was so neat about this is i actually checked the weather for today when i got up this morning…..it was supposed to be hot and partly cloudy,,,,,said nothing about rain!….absolutely nothing!
you dont understand….where i live it can cloud up and not drop one drop of water and be clear again just as quick as it clouded up!
i live in northern nevada……our saying here…if you dont like the weather…hand around for five minutes…it will change.
they were high clouds which usually gives us nothing….why do you think i had decided to water in the first place!

What patio furniture cover materials or manufacturers are best for protecting outdoor furniture in Northern California weather?

So I have a screened in porch with a roof but I live in Mass so we get some pretty bad weather and snow and rain do get in if it’s windy. My husband and I went to Pier one and we mixed and matched a great patio set with pillows, a loveseat, table, small table everything, it was perfect and in our price range……..only to find out it was mostly indoor stuff!! They had all their outdoor furniture and indoor wicker/cushions mixed together and not separated. it was quite frustrating..
anyways, has anyone used indoor wicker on a porch?

They are taking over my life here !! One even drowned in my pool yesterday. They have taken apart my brand-new cushions for my outdoor furniture and used stuffing for nests, I guess. They are everywhere !! I live in a town where there is an ordinance against discharge of a weapon, so I can’t call a hunter to come get a meal. Help !!

I need to get decent outdoor furniture for my lawn. I am looking for a square or rectangular table that will seat 8 people, and can be placed on a lawn, not a patio, and not sink into the ground.

I live in norther/central NJ. I would rather try to purchanse this furniture at a store instead of ordering onlne.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?
