My mother in law is having an old barnwood table restored for us, and she is leaving the chair tops(cushions) to me so I can match them to my kitchen. I am trying to find a good fabric, that cleans easily because I have 2 boys under 4. I want something that looks nice, but also something that doesnt stain too easily. Any ideas?

THE FURTINTURE IS POLY FABRIC

Measurements are 203 cm length, 60 cm width and 5 cm thickness. The fabric is solid and 137 cm wide.

My friend got completely wasted last night and proceeded to throw up on my couch several times. The problem is that it’s not a leather couch so I can’t just wipe it up, but it’s the kind with a cotton cushion covered with fabric.

I’m going to take the cover off and wash it, but what do I do about the cotton part?

I have a strange foam couch that pulls out into a bed – it’s kind of the ultimate piece of furniture because it’s a sofa, it’s a bed, and it’s light as a feather. It looks like it may have come from Ikea, but I’m not sure.

The odd tweed-type fabric on the couch is shredding, so I’d like to replace it. I’m not sure how to go about it, though – I can’t get a regular slipcover because the bottom part of it needs to pull out for the bed part.

Here are the dimensions:

Whole length – 63 inches
Cushion length – 47 inches
Arm height from bottom to top – 21 inches
Height at the back – 28 inches

So it’s an unusually small couch with a pull out portion. Any ideas on how I can recover it? (and I can’t sew)

I babysit a two year old who managed to find an aqua colored crayon and mark on my off white sofa with it a couple of times before I saw her. How do I get these lines out of the fabric on my sofa? It is on the side area that cannot just be removed like if it was on a cushion cover. If that were the case, I could just remove it, treat it and put it back on. I am stumped. HELP! It is not totally obvious, but it sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

What is the best way to get cat urine out of fabric. My old cat pissed on my couch almost 2 mo ago and we tried EVERYTHING to get the smell out..some days we dont smell it other days its all we can smell!!!! the cushion covers can’t come off because the material inside is just basically stuffing not like one solid material…..

Ok so I just bought a couch and a loveseat off craigslist for (woohoo!) but they have some stains on the seat cushion covers…which are removable (they unzip off). Should I attempt to throw them in the wash, or does anyone have any good stain removal tips for fabric? Thanks so much!

I recently purchased a Paul McCobb lounge chair by Calvin at a thrift store and it needs reupholstered. It has an attached cushion on the back, a detachable seat cushion,and a walnut frame base which circles the backrest with a fabric inset.

I have a 2 piece, L-shaped leather couch. I moved into my friends house a few months ago where she has 2 cats, approx age 7-10 for both, and one of them we know has decided to make my couch into her personal urinal. The other cat we’re not sure. I have no pets so no other pet smell would have been on the couch. I think they’re just cranky and old. If anyone has any cat temperament tips, I am open. It’s just weird because a new rooomie is nothing new to them.

Anyway, we called the useless upholstery guy and he basically poured some stuff onto and into the couch (in the crevice where its actual fabric and foam and it smells the worst) and it did nothing. So we took the under side cover off and are cleaning it from the inside out. We bough some pet-smell/urine remover in the economy size and planned on renting some kind of steam cleaner machine to try and get it our ourselves. I need this ready before Dec. 13th when we are hosting an X-mas party and I need something that will work!!

I have access to the whole inside of the couch from underneath so I am able to penetrate the foam cushioning with whatever machine I end up using.And once it’s cleaned it getting covered in plastic asap. Any tips are appreciated, this is SOOOOOOOO frustrating!!!
