I’ve noticed that the elderly are allowed to loiter no matter where or when. You step into the mall and there’s the same group of people in about their 60′s sitting on a bench, no bags or anything, just sitting for 2 or 3 hours chatting. When I sit down, even by myself with a shopping bag in my hand I’m asked to exit the mall. They even sit on the display patio furniture which isn’t allowed regardless.

One of the reasons I’m asking this is because in my dads store, that I also work in, has a couch around the entertainment section, mainly for looks or for shoppers who are taking a break. Sometimes the elderly people will just come in and think they can chill and watch TV. When I ask them if they need a hand and they say "No dear, we’re just sitting" I’ll say "well I’ll have to ask you to go then, we don’t allow loitering in here" and I always get the same jibber jabber "You should respect your elders, if I want to come into a store and sit down I should be allowed – blah blah blah" to which I simply say "I don’t care if you’re 8 or 88 – no loitering, find a new hangout, thanks".

I mean, I find it pathetic that an 18 year old can’t step into a mall, do some shopping and then sit on the bench for a second (I thought the benches were for shoppers anyway) without getting kicked out, and elderly can come sit down all effing day. What do you think ?

I have a Golden Retriever that is a year and a half and a Husky that is 9 months old. I can’t leave them inside because they have destroyed the couch, the table, the walls, magazines….everything i leave out (see list below). I put them outside when I’m gone and it is a huge problem too. They have ate the drain pipes, the flower bed lining, MY BRAND NEW FLOWERS!!!! and hell they even ate our security sign (its made of metal).

For the inside of the house I’ve tried Bitter Apple, and it helps sometimes (but not always). I don’t know what to do about the outside, they have PLENTY toys to play with and everything.

They also try to dig holes to the other side of the freaking planet.

So far they have ate: tampoline, drain pipes, trees, flowers, dug wholes, flower bed lining, fences, patio furniture, blankets, clothes, magazines, 4 cell phone chargers, 3 xbox controllers, 2 xbox headsets, 2 remote controls, 5 dvds & cases, basically anything they can get their teeth on…

I’m so fed up and frustrated, tired of smacking them for it because it isn’t working…. Any suggestions would be great!!!!

Its time for my couch to get a bath. its smelly and dirty.
so tomorrow im planning on cleaning it! I read online proper ways to clean your couch and one of the steps was to wash the cushion covers. if i do them on a cold gentle cycle will they shrink in the dryer? or do i need to air dry them?

Bam is actually a kitten really, hes 9 months old, he was neutered at 6 months, ive had him since he was 9 weeks old [he was from my friends cats litter], my cats are indoor cats 24-7

shouldnt he be playing and interacting with us?, we got another kitten 2 months ago, but Bam was already depressed before he came so i know its not the new kittens fault

he just sits on a cushion or the couch most the time, if you go and pat him or hold him he just struggles to get away, he acts like he hates us
our new kitten ginger is such a darling., he loves us playing with him, will follow us constantly and craves attention, which we r willing to give both cats.

we try so hard with bam, what can we do?my teenager read in a book that this cat was really depressed looking that it climbed under a blanket and suffocated itself, can that really happen? do cats commit suicide?

is bam ever going to change? how can i help him? just watching him makes me depressed!

i’ve got a 8 month old labrador cross Alsatian, she has learnt to sit, come to her name, lay, wait for her dinner and is toilet trained. But she chews everything up, i realise that this is puppy behaviour, but this morning she was left downstairs whilst i got my children ready for the day and when i came back down she had destroyed the main cushion on the couch. there was foam all over the floor, i couldn’t believe it. she has often been left downstairs as she is not allowed upstairs but i can’t understand why she would do this all of a sudden. i can’t afford to buy a new couch but its ruined!
any ideas why she would have done this.
we take her for two walks a day usually one short one long she always has a run till she gives up chasing the ball on both times

I have an old white couch that is dirty, can’t afford a new on so I took off the cushion covers and put them in the washing machine. But how do I go about cleaning the sofa itself.

I just snagged a great wicker couch that my neighbor was throwing away. I would like to turn it into an outdoor patio set. To do this, I will need to replace the badly worn current cushions with outdoor cushions. The problem is that I can find replacement cushion covers that will work. There are 3-cushions that are 20" square each. The two on the ends have a curve on the back corner. Because of this curve, it seems that I should just get a 60" D-shaped cushion. This problem is that I cant find one. Any ideas?

i ordered a slipcover for my couch and it comes with the separate cushion cover, only my couch has 2 cushions and they wont both fit. i think i can just tuck away the extra and just use the one to cover the one cushion.
