If i get a kiddie pool for my pug would that help keep him cool in 70-85 degree weather for a long period?
So far i have a doghouse,and big patio umbrella for shade. I’ve heard that if i get a kiddie pool for my dog and fill it with water it would do better outside for a long period of time
Should i give this a try?

Based on the short nose conformation of a pug they have a decreased ability to heat exchange and are more prone to heatstroke. Do NOT leave a pug outside for long periods!

That is exactly how you keep a dog cool. The pads on their feet. If they stand in the water for any length of time it will indeed help, but taking him inside would be even better if you have an airconditioning. Dogs are prone to heat stroke like humans along with dehydration…Keep his safety in mind!

NO!!! See my answer to your other question. Pugs should not be left outdoors unsupervised, especially around water. Please check the internet for all the stories about pugs who have been left outdoors and been stolen or died from heat, beestings, drowning, etc. Can I recommend a great web forum for you to learn more?

Would you be cool out there all day?
If not, how will a Pug with breathing problems from having such short of nose stay cool?
The absolute best thing you can do is take the dog somewhere where he can be in the air conditioning. A kennel, a friends house?
I know it’s difficult and costly to take him to a kennel or a friends house every day but how would you feel if you came home and he was dead?
Personally, I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself for not looking after him properly and taking that extra time to keep him safe.
I am not attacking you for asking this question, just that you need to understand that short faced dogs need a lot more care and consideration than other breeds. They cannot handle the heat at all really.

If you are going to leave an animal for that long then why have one. Please see my last post about pugs on your other question.
Pugs are NOT outside dogs.
Please do not get a Pug and do this to it. This would be abuse. Pugs are not like other dogs they have conditions that prevent them from being outside all day.
Call a dog sitter. They can care for your pet while you are at work. Also many kennels offer special rates for watching dogs during the day
