How to proect new outdoor furniture?
just bought a couple of natural color rocking chairs. They look like they’ve been stained and not sealed with some protective treatment. What’s the best product to use to protect my rockers from fading in the sun, the rain, and general cracking due to possible weather damaging?

I recommend a marine varnish. Use it in a well-ventilated area as it’s not a water-based finish. You may want to put the chairs away or at least cover them in winter. If you can protect them from storms they’ll hold up better. Depending on the type of wood used they could have a good long life. Obviously, if they are on a porch or at least have a roof overhead they’ll last longer.
