How do I keep my neighbor from spoiling my dog when I am at work?
My neighbor offered to help with my dog while I am at work. He is a hug Chocolate lab. He is a big baby and he is a part of the family. He loves to be outside and we have a 1 acre fenced in back yard. He has plenty of shade from the trees and it is like dogtopia back there. He also has a huge house that he can get into if it rains. So anyways my neighbor takes him places and puts him in her house with her dogs and feeds him on top of me feeding him and she puts him on my VERY nice screened in porch if it even sprinkles outside. Now I bought some very nice furniture form Pottery Barn and it has white cusions and it rained for about fifteen minutes and she put him up there and my cushions are ruined!!!! It’s not the dog’s fault he just wanted to get comfy. So my dog like hates me because I can’t spend all of this time with him. So how do I ask her to stop doing so much with him? She thinks dogs are human! I know she is trying to help, but this is a little much.

Talk to her. Be straightforward. If she thinks of dogs as people, then remind her that this is YOUR child and you have a way you want him raised. Insist that she follow your rules, or you can find someone else to help you. Living under two "mommies" will only confuse the poor thing in the long run and lead to stress.

Tell her to leave him alone because she is making him fat and spoiled. He is not her dog to spoil anyway.

why dont you just ask her politely?
if she’s spoiling your dog then she’s got to be understanding!

keep your dog inside for the day so he can’t ruin ur cushions with water and so she can’t see where he is…and i hope she doesn’t go in ur house….sorry to hear bout’ the chair and neighbor.
